In addition to all the entertainment options at night, there are many daytime activities in Las Vegas for visitors and locals to enjoy. Whether you want to connect with the city's notorious past, experience an adrenaline rush, brave some of the city's thrilling rides, or use Vegas as a launch point for exploring nearby attractions, there's something for everyone to enjoy in Vegas.

Sky Combat Ace: Fighter Jet Flight Experiences

Looking for a hands-on activity that will get your adrenaline pumping? Test your mettle in a Las Vegas stunt plane. Whether you're looking for a fun solo activity or a group adventure, Sky Combat Ace has several options that deliver an air combat flight experience that's second to none. Sky Combat Ace features the following attractions:

  • The Afterburner: Could you complete the maneuvers displayed during an airshow? After a safety briefing and basic training, you're ready to display your acrobatic flying skills. The Afterburner gives you control while flying the plane.
  • Operation Recon: When you sign up for Operation Recon, you can try many popular acrobatic maneuvers. Operation Recon lets our skilled pilot complete the maneuvers so you can see what each move is like when executed by a professional.
  • Sky Combat: Love laser tag? Ever wondered what it would be like to be in a firefight in the sky? Wonder no more! Sky Combat delivers a laser tag experience high above the city, where you engage in a dogfight and see if you can get your target in your sights.
  • Top Gun Flight Experience: Our Top Gun Flight Experience gives you a chance to complete an air mission and recreate the moves Top Gun fighter pilots make when deployed.

Every flight experience includes safety training and captures every move on a video recording you get to keep. Whether you have your heart set on a Top Gun flight experience or opt for Operation Recon and let someone else take control, you'll have a once-in-a-lifetime flying experience over Vegas you'll never forget.

The Mob Museum: Las Vegas's Notorious History

Las Vegas's first federal structure once housed a post office, federal agency offices, and a federal courtroom.

Today, that building is home to The Mob Museum. Las Vegas wouldn't be the city it is today without the intervention of the Mafia, who financed casino developments and built the city into a primary destination for gambling and other adult activities. Many embrace the belief that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” a promotional slogan tied to Vegas's long-standing image as a city with a reputation for illicit activities.

The Mob Museum allows visitors to connect with Vegas's colorful past. Visitors can test their aim in the museum's Firearm Training Simulator, where they can test their skills in a live role-playing scenario with a simulated firearm. Displays share the history of some of the most notorious mobsters from Vegas history, and guests can even try their hand at forensic analysis in the museum's crime lab. You can also learn how the law enforcement officers took down the mob. Lastly, don't forget to visit the Speakeasy and distillery in The Mob Museum's basement.

High Roller: Rise High Above the City for Breathtaking Views

The High Roller doesn't get you as far above the city as Sky Combat Ace's fighter jet flight experiences. Still, this thrilling ride rises 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip, delivering a commanding view of the city. You can combine your High Roller experience with a Happy Half Hour featuring a bartender and open bar during your ride.

The High Roller features pods for guests, not the tiny seats you associate with typical Ferris wheels. The pods can hold up to 40 people, giving you an opportunity to use the High Roller for group outings, weddings, and other special events.

Day Trips: Exploring Nearby Attractions

Las Vegas is just a few hours from the Grand Canyon, making day trips to this World Heritage Site a popular option for Vegas visitors and residents. Bus trip packages eliminate the worry and planning needed for a Grand Canyon trip; you can literally put someone else in the driver's seat and sit back and relax on your trip to and from the Grand Canyon. There are also day trip packages featuring Grand Canyon helicopter tours.

If you want to get out of the city but spend less time traveling, you can opt for a day trip to the Hoover Dam, which is just over half an hour from the city. The Hoover Dam is one of the most incredible feats of engineering in the world, and it delivers power to over a million people annually. Day trips to the Hoover Dam give you a chance to tour the dam in an SUV or bus or tour Lake Mead. You can even extend your stay and enjoy a Lake Mead dinner cruise.

The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous natural wonders in the world, and the Hoover Dam is one of the most famous manufactured wonders. Suppose you're looking for a different type of day trip experience. In that case, you can take an Extraterrestrial Highway road trip to Area 51 and get a chance to check out some of the places known for UFO sightings. This tour gives you a chance to see businesses and sites featured in popular TV shows and films, such as The X-Files and Independence Day.

Las Vegas: Beyond Sin City

From the city's museums, free music shows, and dazzling sites on the Strip, the city has much for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're interested in traveling to popular sites throughout the state or into the skies for a dog fight or fighter jet flight experience, you'll find the perfect opportunities for unforgettable day activities in Las Vegas.
